Cacao a superfood as it is one the most antioxidant foods we can consume. It not only tastes great but also boasts a long list of health benefits.
cacAO powder and cocOA powder are almost the same — except for how they are processed.
CacAO powder is cold-pressed, while cocOA powder is processed at a much higher temperature. The heat strips out a lot of the nutrition.
That’s why it’s a good idea to choose cold-pressed cacao powder, because it still has most of its antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.
This means it has a long list of possible health benefits, including helping to boost brain and heart health and lowering blood pressure.
Plus, it contains micronutrients that can help lower stress and the risk of type 2 diabetes.
Cacao powder is also a good source of minerals people don’t get enough of like magnesium, iron, calcium, potassium, and phosphorous, and contains antibacterial compounds, and compounds good for your heart, brain and gut.
Recipe
Oat milk is great in this, but you can use whatever variety you have on-hand.

● ¼ cup (20 grams) old-fashioned rolled oats (gluten-free, if possible)
● 1½ tsp chia seeds
● ¼ cup (60 ml) oat milk
● ¼ cup (60 ml) cooled coffee
● ¼ cup (55 grams) plain Greek yogurt
● 1 tbsp maple syrup
● 1 tsp cacao powder
