Meet Pamela Klombies, Physiotherapy/Craniosacral, BSc PT
Pamela graduated from the University of Saskatchewan: School of Physical Therapy in 1995. She came to Calgary with her young family in 1997 and has enjoyed working for various sports medicine clinics in the city and Airdrie until opening her very own centralized office offering physiotherapy at the Calgary WOW Centre. (Note: With Direct Access in Alberta, you do not need to wait for a doctor’s referral before seeing a physiotherapist.)
At the age of 16, Pamela observed a tv commercial with a woman teaching a young man who was learning how to walk again in the parallel bars. She knew without a doubt that she wanted to be a physiotherapist when she grew up. Over the course of her schooling and career she has experienced many pitfalls that hindered the realization of her vision and, as we all have all come to realize, that life has its “light teachers” and its “dark teachers“.
At 35 she was paralyzed in both legs from a ruptured disc and her surgeon was not able to predict a positive outcome. She persevered with the tireless help of her close family and her awesome rehabilitation team, and she feels her struggles made her stronger and more resilient and hopefully, a better therapist.
In her spare time, Pamela teaches Zumba and mat Pilates and often travels to Belize and Caribbean resorts to teach Aqua Zumba and her signature style Pamlattes class. Visit Pamela’s Facebook Page for more information – https://www.facebook.com/pamlattes. She loves down time with her dog, enjoying good meals with her friends and family, doing puzzles and playing cards or board games.
