Tara Ouellette was born and raised in Calgary, where her healing practice started at an early age.
A childhood injury required Tara to seek out Massage Therapy and other physical therapy to manage pain and recover. Her quest to help heal herself was a large part of her desire to help others.
Tara graduated from The Northwestern School of Massage Therapy in 1994 and started her Craniosacral Therapy training in 2003. Craniosacral Therapy became one of her favourite modalities and she has been both a student, teaching assistant, collaborator, and mentor to other therapists.
The arrival of her two daughters early in her career helped her to focus her practice on pediatric care. Tara has observed that babies and expectant moms are particularly receptive to the benefits of Craniosacral Therapy (CST), and she often works with babies before and after their birth. Tara also frequently collaborates with Midwives and other prenatal care specialists as part of her work.
As Tara’s practice has evolved, she has worked with people experiencing a variety of physical, spiritual, and emotional trauma. This mind, body, and spirit work has allowed her natural gifts of intuition and sensitivity to energy to be integrated into her healing practice. One of the most rewarding parts of her work is teaching her clients about their own bodies’ wisdom and how to listen to it.
When she’s not at work, Tara channels her creativity by spending time tending her garden and when the inevitable winter comes, she switches gears to make pottery.
