What is Reflexology for Lymphatic Drainage?

Reflexology for Lymphatic Drainage | Calgary WOW Centre | Integrated Wellness Centre | SW Calgary

First, Reflexology is the study of reflexes.

As pressure is applied to these reflexes, found in our hands, feet, face ,and ears, we engage the body’s parasympathetic system. That system helps us move from a state of fight, flight, or freeze to a state of relaxation, rest and repair. Reflexology is a whole body healing method and encourages the body’s own natural healing to repair itself.

Reflexology for Lymphatic Drainage (RLD) is a reflexology protocol specialized in stimulating the lymphatic reflexes on the feet. Although performed on the feet, RLD stimulates the lymphatic system for the whole body. RLD can help people who have had lymph nodes removed and have swelling in a limb as a result, as well as people who have Lymphedema.

Reflexology will also help relieve tension, improve circulation, and help promote the natural function of the related areas of the body.
